The PVDry2 is much more than a Class B sterilizer. This unit utilizes a vacuum pump in a pre-vacuum phase that eliminates cold air pockets in the chamber prior to introducing steam. During the cycle, the pump pulses steam through the chamber contents, ensuring maximum steam penetration for complete sterilization.
The PVDry2 eliminates recontamination of instruments by delivering dry packages by utilizing a closed-door dying system and by not recirculating “dirty” water within the chamber. During the post-vacuum stage, the vacuum pump aggressively removes steam from the chamber allowing for the delivery of dry packages and preventing microbial contamination that results from wet pouch wicking, instrument pokes and tears. Closed door drying prevents microbial contamination of the packs and the patented non-recirculation feature allows only clean water to enter into the chamber for each cycle, which reduces bacteria in the reservoir and chamber. Dead bacteria cells contain endotoxins that can cause inflammation. Bacterial endotoxins can be present in sterilizers that recirculate water and could end up on instruments. In addition, the non-recirculating feature prevents the build-up of contaminants by not recirculating used water which contains rust, scale and handpiece oils. |
