Lafayette Instrument Complete Vertisonic uses sonar to objectively measure vertical jump. The pulse unit emits a short pulse of sound upon a signal from the display unit, and then waits for an echo and sends a signal back to the display unit. The sonar waves echo off the subject’s hand and bounce back to the pulse unit to measure the vertical height and jump. The LCD display on the pulse unit automatically shows, in inches or cenimeters, standing height, jump height, vertical jump height and maximum jump height. The Vertisonic provides immediate feedback and is accurate to 0.24in. The portable, battery powered unit employs a "battery saver" feature that will automatically shut the unit off when it is not in use. |
